Cardston Legion Supports CHS Band

The Royal Canadian Legion, Cardston Branch 170, is committed to supporting essential services in their communities, and their most recent donation demonstrates that.

Earlier this month, representatives from the Cardston Legion visited Cardston High School (CHS) to present a $2,000 cheque to the band program. The donation will help the program with instrument maintenance and the purchase of new instruments.

Additionally, although the Legion already offers two bursaries for graduating CHS students, they have created a new $500 bursary specifically for a graduating band student to continue the pursuit of music education.

The Cardston Legion Treasurer, Darren Cahoon, is grateful that his organization was able to support young local musicians. "The high school band has always been very supportive of the annual Remembrance Day ceremony that the Legion puts on," he explains. "This is a great opportunity for our organization to give back in recognition of their continued support of veterans."

The Royal Canadian Legion is a non-profit Canadian Veteran's organization founded in 1925. They are committed to supporting and advocating for Veterans by remembering their sacrifices and continuing the tradition of service in helping our communities.
